External Serrated Lock Washer

External serrated lock washers function similarly to internal ones but have teeth on the outer edge. They are designed for slip resistance on the outer rim, offering even pressure distribution over a wide area and strong resistance to heavy-load vibration. Made to DIN 6795 standards, their larger diameter and robust external teeth bite into both the nut and the workpiece across a wider area. This makes products particularly effective for larger diameter bolts and high-load applications where standard washers might fail.

External serrated lock washers are commonly used in heavy machinery, automotive chassis, construction equipment, and wind power installations. They are typically found in connections for gearboxes, drive axles, and structural steel, where vibration and heavy loads are constant. These washers provide a simple and reliable method for maintaining clamp force under demanding conditions.

External serrated lock washers are usually made from alloy steel (40Cr), spring steel (65Mn), or stainless steel (316) for corrosion resistance. They are heat-treated and coated for protection. Custom washers can be supplied in oversized diameters, increased thicknesses, or with special serration patterns to meet non-standard, heavy-load vibration operating requirements.
